Residents have told us they’re concerned about the rise in e‑bikes and e‑scooters being ridden dangerously around Westerham. Yesterday, while on dedicated ASB patrols, officers encountered several riders making off from police.

Using local knowledge, officers patrolled likely back routes and located a 14‑year‑old male on Maden Road who attempted to evade officers. He matched the clothing of an earlier e‑scooter rider, including a balaclava, and was detained for a search.

A roadside drug wipe returned a positive result for cannabis. The male was arrested on suspicion of driving over the prescribed drug limit, failing to stop, no insurance, and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. His e‑scooter was seized and he was issued with a Section 59 warning. He has been bailed pending the results of blood analysis.
